Modern medical practice depends on the diagnostic clinical laboratories as much as on the physical signs and symptoms of disease in patients. The laboratory technologist is an important member of a team that cares for the patient; he/she is a health professional on whose competence and accountability depends the care and treatment of the patient. The Medical Laboratory Technology Course aims to train students in the various diagnostic laboratory techniques that are now available.
The course will provide good/standard quality education to the trainees. The curriculum will include classroom teaching and supervised daily practical classes with the latest technology and machines.
Semester examinations will be conducted half yearly and the performance evaluated at the end of each Semester for both theory and practical examinations. Those students who fail to qualify in each semester will be detained for a period of six months.

Duration of Course

The duration of the course will be eighteen (18) months followed by six (6) months rotatory internship at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima.

Eligibility :

Any person seeking admission to DMLT course must fulfill the following conditions:

1. That he/she has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Science stream or equivalent examination from a recognized University or Board of Examinations with at least 45% marks in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

2. That he/she has attained the age of 17 years and be less than 25 years of age on the date of commencement of the course.

3. The candidate must be fluent in English, as the medium of instruction is English.

Procedure For Submission of Application

1. The application form for DMLT course for the year 2021-22 can be downloaded from the website nagahealth.nagaland.gov.in

2. The completed form along with the relevant documents should be submitted online at email govt.pmti[at]gmail[dot]com

3. Application will not be accepted after the last date of submission.

4. Incomplete application will be treated as cancelled.

Mode of Selection

1. There will be no written examination. Rather candidate will be selected for online interview based on their Performance in Board/ university examination. The merit to be determined by aggregate marks obtained in different university examination.

2. The names of the selected candidates will be uploaded in the website of the Health and Family Welfare Department nagahealth.nagaland.gov.in and also official invitation of shortlisted candidates will be done through Phone calls, Whatsapp and Email.

3. Online interview of shortlisted candidates will be held through Zoom, Skype, Whatsapp.

4. Allotment of the seats for a candidate will be made according to merit list and as availability of seats.

5. If it is found on scrutiny, on or during admission that an applicant furnished wrong information in the application form his/ her application for admission will be summarily rejected even though he/she is qualified.

6. In the matter of allocation/ admission of a candidate to the course the decision of the selection board shall be final and binding.

  2. Mode of Fees payable by the students
    The above charge is payable in the following manner:
    • Admission fee of Rs 10,000/- at the time of admission.
    • An amount of Rs 4000/- has to be deposited as caution money during admission. This amount will be refunded upon completion of the course.
    • Tuition fee and examination fee will be payable as per Notification.
  3. The above charge is non-refundable in case of discontinuity of studies by the candidate.
  4. Scholarship and Book grant will be provided to the Students by the Department of Health & Family Welfare.
